SCF was given a generous legacy donation from the estate of Nick McAndrew, a keen fisherman on the River Glass who loved the area. After discussion with the family, the decision was made to use the money to help fund the Community Action Plan/ Local Place Plan. His son Charlie McAndrew writes: “My father Nick McAndrew lived on the Black Isle, and later in Ruisaurie, for 30 years up to his death in 2023. He had a share in the River Glass syndicate and he and his wife Diana (died 2015) were passionate salmon fishers who loved spending time in Strathglass. I now live in their house in Ruisaurie, and fish the river myself, and I can’t think of a more worthy recipient of a part of his legacy than the Strathglass Community Fund.”
