Children and staff from Cannich Bridge Primary School are all geared to take part in the school’s beekeeping project, funded by SCF.
The grants for Cannich’s busy primary school have helped towards: transport for swimming lessons; teaching equipment for outdoor activities, music, maths and cooking; teaching support staff for art and drama, a new Riden Composter to reduce food waste (jointly funded with Soirbheas) and IT equipment for staff and children.

Parents and pupils from Cannich Bridge Primary School get their new RIDAN composter up and running. The composter, which was funded by SCF and Soirbheas, will prevent food waste from going to landfill and engage children in producing and using nutritious compost to grow more food and other plants. The school has been approached by several organisations
(Highland Community Waste Partnership, Highland Council) requesting to use this project as a case study as an example of best practice.
